Unhappy Sal - - Tranny QuestionS????

Sometimes when I'm cruising along & I put my foot in it, the tranny drops drop & kinda makes a high pitched noise a few times then shifts hard. I'm at the track today & it did the same thing, but wouldn't shift up!!!! I get on the return lane & if finally makes a "clunk" sound and seems to start shifting properly. What the heck happened?? What have you guys done to beef-up the tranny?

A valve in the accumulator or main control was stuck, most prolly the accumulator. Gives you the "bang" shift, valve breaks free and the problem is solved, if it doens't happen again, you didn't hurt anything, if it keeps re-occurring, take it to the dealer and have them evaluate it. Most prolly they'll replace the tranny.

Hope this helps,

G

Thanks for your help. I been looking at Level 10's website & they are talking about a "bulletproof" transmission they have. Any thoughts on it & upgrading transmission stuff. I'm on the bottle & get about 430 rwhp.

Factory Tech, That happened to my L. But only one time. When I put it in to passing gear and let up on the accelerator it was like it went in to neutral. Then when it shifted bang. I mean the shift shook the hole truck. I dont think it hurt any thing it still shifts smooth and nice and firm. Thanks for the help. Bob.

Black Bomber, you can e-mail me if you want, and I can forward it to Gregg. I'm not sure if he wants his e-mail posted or not. Did you have any kind of shift kit or line valve in the truck, or was it all stock? If you want to get some beefy internals in that trans, we can hook you up. Gregg makes a nice upgrade, I've got his beefy internals in our 01 right now.

I can't get yours to come up either. I'm pure stock in the tranny. The way I drive, I need some strength in there
