Tedium has nothing to do with, being methodical has everything to do with it. I cannot simply turn off the functionality of the boards, monitor the server for two days and *poof* exactly pin the down the problem with the server.
The focus right now is the forum software's search functionality (actually adding and deleting terms to/from the searchindex) and it may be the fault of the database software behind the scenes, not just the forum software.

When will search be available again? When I am confident that we have tackled the server problems, no sooner. If that is not a good enough answer for you, I will gladly refund your membership fee.
