What to expect?

Since I've been gone for awhile I don't know how things have progressed. Anyway I was wondering what I might expect out of my Lightning this weekend at the track? It seems faster to me than my 2000 which had more mods, but can a chip and a filter actually get me into the 12's with good air(40-50 degrees)?

If you can get all the power to the ground, you might break into the 12's.

TwinTurbo- I took my L to Hallsville back in June. The only mod I had at the time was a JDM chip(warm weather program). I only had 800 miles on her and it was 92 deg out and very humid.
It ran back to back 13.5's @ 102. So with this cooler weather you could brake the 12's! Im thinking 13.0,s - 13.1's atleast. Let us know how it goes.
I know JL bought his 01 and drove it from the dealership to the track, with just a few miles on it and bone stock he turned 13.2's in 40 deg. weather!!

That's what i'm thinking. Up here the weather will permit some high 12's with only chip, filter, and TRACTION. Up here in the artic, you don't even need a pulley for the 12's.

Well I didn't make it into the 12's,13.34 at 104.5 being my best,BUT I was happy with the performance. The track was teh worst I ever seen and most people had 2.4 60 fts or worse on radials there first pass. I never could get it in the 2.0-1.9 range. It would always launch, spin and shift to second, pedal it,shift back to first and run like a banshee. It think a good track surface would have given me a 13.0 or 1,but again I was pleased. Everybody had the same sucky track. I did meet a couple guys on here and they had a set of slicks(suckers)and they actaully ran real good with a 12.2 being the best I saw.

Twinturbo Ranger,
That was my best to date. The track just got worse threw-out the day.
I think you could of run in the 12's if the track prep was a little better. It was nice meeting you
