Hidden Warrenty Information.
The SVT booklet says any performance mods will void the warranty. I never saw this booklet until after I purchased the truck. Do you think this is one of the major selling points that Ford advertises. Hell NO. Salesmen don't know their *** from a hole in the ground. What can Ford construe to be a performance mod. Sounds like a lot of things. Harder bushings for example....
Removing the hitch for weight reduction could be considered a performance mod. Adding watter wetter to your intercooler or radiator. A none funtional ram air hood is a performance option ?
Could be as vague as Ford's policy is. A cowl induction hood ?
V groove spark plugs. Anything that isn't oem or Approved by Ford.
Realistically shouldn't Ford Make a Public statement about which add ons are blessed or not. Will they ever.. NO way.

They put that in there as a quick excuse to get customers to shut up when their warranty claims are denied. Ford knows they have to prove that an aftermarket part caused a problem if they want to void a warranty. If you have a problem with your truck and feel Ford should cover it and they don't you need to file a law suit. Also file a complaint with the FTC. I have a FOIAR being processed right now and it will hopefully show many complaints against FMCO. I'll share when I get my report hopefully around the end of the month.
Good luck. I don't personally have a bitch at the moment. Just that I feel this is a shady business practice. Remember when a 12000 mile warranty was the norm. Guess they feel they can give you more time to break the product and still not have to fix it. Ford has actually replaced a motor of MIne in the 99. Really it was the Service Manager who convinced them. He owned a 93 Lightning at the time. I believe half of the problem is Dealers make less money on a Factory warranty repair then one for an individual. THe Ford mechanics I talk with say they lose money when paid by Ford for repairs. After owning a Gen 1 and 3 Gen II's
I still love these trucks. MIne have been modified only slightly without nitrous and have all been very reliable save for the black 99 that had sludge in the intercooler. Good enough reason for a warrantied crate motor replacement. My preferred Service department isn't even an SVT distributor. I buy Fords..mostly. My 95 SHO has 155000 miles on it. It still runs strong. Never even changed the timing belt. It looks fine. One cam sensor and one new fan , clutch and I still enjoy driving it.
