Thumbs up B&M trans pan Factory Tech valve-body mod ;)

Here are a couple of pics of the B&M piece (Thanks Mark!). The Factory Tech shift kit is perfect for me(Thanks Greg). The shifts are shortened but not at all aggressive under light throttle. They are firm and quick, but not abrupt or violent under WOT. The chip I have from Sal has 2 street programs. One has stock shifts. The other has has slightly firmed up shifts. The valve body works well with both programs and I think Sal has spent as much or more time than ford did on the shifting characteristics programmed into his chips. The shifts are exactly the way I expected them to be. I have aggressive shifts on my race program and, as it's set up for higher octane fuel, I haven't tested it out yet.

Kudos to Sal! Thanks a lot!

Roger

Odin,

Man I like that pan, I need to get a deeper one for mine. I am just worried about it scraping with the drop kit. Where did you get the B&M pan?

I got it from Mark at LFP. He's got 'em up on his web site. He sells the 4x4 pan, also. Everything you need for the trade off is included in the kit: new bolts, cork gasket, and new filter to fit.

That pan isn't that low, You should see the pan that I got from perfoemance automatic. Its got a nose that hangs another 4 to 5 inchs below that! I scrapped it once when I was going over a speed bump! That was scary, so I wouldn't worry to much about the B&M pan, and I think I would rather have the B&M pan for that reason.

Here's mine, to low in my opinion!

HOLY Mercon BATMAN!!!

That pan is a MONSTER! Definitely not for dropped trucks. Ok, maybe for RTKILLA and his speed bump fetish.... or something.

You install it yourself?

Speedin Bob,

Yep! I had to. NozeBleedSpeed called me out! I had some problems surrounding the install; but, the install itself was easy. I'll not get into that though.

thulsadoom,

I guess I've read waaaaay too many fantasy / sword and sorcery novels.

What is LFP website? Kinda frustrating when you put a search for LFP and come up with nothing. There has got to be a better way. thanks

I would reuse the original gasket and use a filter with the same stock length pickup tube.
Here is a B&M compared with a pan that may rub with a lowered Lightning.

Odin, I hate you!! Once I saw your B&M, I knew I had to have it. Its on its way, while I can't wait to put it on, the checking account is holding you solely responsible!! What a touch of quality.

That's funny. Earlier today I was looking at my checking acount and decided to put up pics for the sole purpose of enticing others. Why should I be by myself on this one?

Hey Jeff, does this mean you need to cancel the order though us for the Ford pan and filter? Let me know. Thanks!
