A Plan is for Ford Factory workers, and they also get 4 X-Plans to give away if they want.

X-Plan is for "Buddies" of Ford, mostly other companies that use Fords for their Fleet purchases.

A-Plan saves you a ton of money, 3% under invoice.

X-Plan is the same as A-Plan plus 4%.

There is also a Z-Plan and I read something about a B_plan but I've never actually seen one of those.

You have to qualify for any of the plans to get your PIN to be able to order under one of the plans. If you can't get a PIN then you can't get the plan. There is no way to "sneek" into one of these plans. If you aren't going to buy for about a year check out eaa.org (or is it .com, I can't remember.) if you join their organization you will qualify for X-Plan after one year of membership ($40 to join and it will save you a couple of thousand off of sticker).

If you don't want to spend $40 and wait a year on top of it, there may be another way. I have a form from Ford that apparently gives out unlimited number of X Plan pins. I haven't tried it out myself but I recently gave the info to a couple of F150online people. It's simply a form on Ford letterhead that you fill in and fax or mail in, and you will receive a PIN that most Ford-affiliated dealers (Ford, Mazda, Mercury, Lincoln, Volvo and Land Rover) should accept.

The form is in .gif format at http://www.chaean.net/Fun/xplan.gif and the fax number is (303) 845-6073. Your milage may vary but it's worth a shot.

If you have difficulty printing the form (as I have, but I'm at work and I have no software that I can make the image resized to fit a normal paper) then I'll rescan and repost later on today to the same location. Let me know if it works.

Question

How do you use this plan, and does it expire?

In calculating X PLan...

is the destination charge added in before taking A PLan X 4% or after?

Thanks!

Question Another idea

Since Ford keeps a sharp eye on all A, X, and Z plan purchases you may want to try this. Go to work for a "Blue Oval Certified" dealer that way you will qualify for "D Plan" pricing. My parents and two of my sisters just used mine eligability to get pin #'s and buy Fords.

As far as using plans, you have to find a dealer who would accept a plan price first. Plan prices are optional and a dealer may refuse to honor it, and many do on rare or sought-after models, such as Lightning, Harley F150, SVT products, etc. But a small number of dealers does accept plan prices for those vehicles and I believe your chance will go up closer to the end of the model year.

After you find a dealer, and after you have procured a PIN, simply visit the dealer and give him the PIN. You can just tell the salesman. It doesn't need to be printed on some certified document or Ford letterhead. You just tell him what the number is and your social security number, and salesman will write it down and scurry away to confirm the PIN to your social security number.

That's pretty much it. My last plan purchase took me 30 minutes and would have taken even less except for haggling about my trade-in price.

As for whether destination price is added before or after the plan price, I have no idea... My guess is after because it's an uniform price added to all models.

Go to Ford's site at:

http://www.corporate-ir.net/ireye/ir...=F&script=2300

On the literature order form, request an investor packet.

When you get the packet, there will be an X-plan form inside.

Fill out and send in the form and you'll get an X-plan PIN in 2 weeks or so.

It's the same form that chaean provided at:

http://www.chaean.net/Fun/xplan.gif
