Nitrous- Cheating or Not?
It's not cheating. It's just using dual power adders which can get risky if you don't know what you're doing.
It's kinda like racing a stock L with your modded L. The person with the stock L might consider this cheating.

wow, REALLY surprised of the "not cheating" outcome, pretty close to like 20:1 :-P NozeBleedSpeed, I too have been combing the beach for that rocket!! Let's get a search party out and cover ground twice as fast :-D

Bad as L
Most places fill and charge by the pound. Price depends widely on location. I know places in NC that still only charge 2 bucks a pound other places charge 4. I also know places in SC and GA that charge as much as 6 to 7 dollars a pound!!
Which is highway robbery if you ask me but when your bottle is empty and away from home you pay what you have to.
As for how many runs per bottle it depends on how much you’re spraying.
In my Stang a 400 shot fogger was only good for one race (one run didn't empty the bottle but there wasn’t enough left for a full 2nd run)
When the car was stock I ran a 150 dry shot and could get 3 to 4 good runs.
as a side note for those that think NOS is bad or whatever. I agree it does increase the normal wear of a motor but not as much as most people 'think'. I started spraying my 1993 mustang with 150 in Sept of 93 when I had about 10,000 miles on the car. I put on a 12psi vortech and took off the NOS in Feb of 98 at 88,000 miles. That motor was still running as strong as the day I bought it when I pulled it out in Nov of 99 with 94,000 miles on it. I know I had to have sprayed well over 500 bottles through that motor between 93 and 98! I sold that old motor and the man is STILL running it in his truck today with no problems.
I must also say I know NOTHING about running NOS on a Lightning, But from what I have been reading over the last few months if I decide to shoot the L I will replace the rods first (and the pistons). I think if your gonna play, the key to a long dependable, happy life with your toy is a strong platform and a properly tuned system, regardless of your choice of power adder.

Well right now I think its cheating since I can't match you in my Xterra, but when I finally get the Lightning and can compete, nope not cheating.
I just had to jump in so I can get to 100 hundred posts by 2010!

Cheating on/at what? Warranty—absolutely. Racing—you’ve got to be kidding.

A 15 year old with a 400 HP truck + Nitrous = very dangerous.
OK Flash, my 15 year old (who is driving this (~360HP) truck) wants to know if you were ever 15???
I remember the 260 (rear wheel) HP non-ABS, non-Airbag, non-computer designed crash zone, skinny non-Z rated, non-belted radial, much lighter, Firebird that I first drove in. I’d give my 15 year old a two stage nitrous Lighting (on the track) over that death trap any day. Any modification other than nitrous gives him more power every day.
