i'm a first time writer but have been browsing here a while. i am a syclone owner and long time gm fan(don't hate me). as much as i read here i haven't seen any stories about races against syclones. i am very interested in the L's because i love sport trucks and they are definately awesome. i've lost all hope for gm to put out something similar. i guess they lost their backbone after the sy/ty saga. anyway let me here some good stories, i only have one lightning around these parts(Arkansas, no jokes please!) and it is a pretty close race. i win due to traction issues. hopefully i'll be joining the lightning faithful soon.

 

I got a cool one.

We always used to party at a friends house. I always parked my L right by the road, so It was easily seen. One night a Typhoon stopps right in front of the house and just rips a huge wheel. I get offended and chase him down and smoke him. I see this guy at the street raced one night and he has all the excused in the world why I won (I just had the turbo replaced and wasen't running any boost. I normally run low 12's). I didn't have my L that night, but I still raised the flag. Well a few weeks later, him and a guy with a syclone come strolling up to my frineds house. There was a ty and a sy (both from fast). They said that they go around late at night and smoke the highschool kids that are driving arround in their ricers and stuff and wanted me to come (In other words they wanted to race. ) To make a long story short, we all end up at a light on a 3 lane rd. The sy on the left and ty on the right. Light turns green and I got a great hook. The syclone got toasted hard as hell. The "very modded" Typhoon (guy I smoked a few weeks back) hung in alot better and he only lost by about 2 car legnths. I am supprized that he kept up as well on the top speed. I thought for sure that he would begin to fall back at 60 or so.

I must say that I have alot of respect for these little buggers and they are pretty good looking trucks too. Just not as pretty to me as my L. JMHO.

 

yeah my sy is pretty lethal right up till about 90 or so then then little bricks has trouble fighting the wind. great for stoplight races though. i wish i had more L's around, my friends is a 2000 bone stock and if he hooks gives me great chase, i like the fact of no turbo lag to

I posted that I had raced a syclone at the track last year on syty.net and I got flamed. I even posted it in the kill section(where one can post if they got beat)and it was closed. We were at the same track on the same night and never lined up together but my time was a 7.99 to his 8.3/8.4. He would have really been toast in the 1/4th mile.

 

Those Syclones/Typhoons are fast lil trucks. Im not going to say I have never lost to one, I lost to a Syclone when I first got my L by a car length or so, what can I say, those trucks are fast and the driver knew exactly what he was doing. I did beat a typhoon last week by at least 3 car lenths but, this time I knew exactly what I was doing. Those trucks are fast, they are always a good race.
