Exhaust tips.
Exhaust tips.
I've tried to post this elsewhere, but seem to be having no luck. Can some of you Lightning dudes help me out here? I am looking at some exhaust tips that I want to buy, and they are 3-1/2" x 22" long, chrome angle cut for $24.95 per tip. Good deal huh? Well, before I haul off and buy em', I would like to know how they would affect my exhaust sound. I have the 4.2l v6, with a FM 40 SI/DO set-up. Would they give it a deeper and more powerful sound? I know! Your wondering why a wee v6'r is on your board. I am an admirer of the Lightning, but I'm just not lucky enough to own one! Any help would be appreciated.

Believe it or not, it will sound a little different. I redid my 93 lightning exhaust and decided to add 4" tips out the corners of the bed. That was the only change made besides the pipe from the flowmasters back, and I could tell quite a difference.
I thought there might be a sound difference. D/K how much though. I guess I'll have to wait and see.

Why not use stainless tips rather than chrome, that way you don't have to worry about them rusting. I posted this site earlier, they have stainless tips for less than $40 each.

Thanks '00BlackLightning. I thought about going with stainless tips, but I will be changing my exhaust in about another year or two anyways. Stainless tips will be on the list for my Magnaflow exhaust though, when I put it on. Thanks again for the link.
Those tips you are talking about i once tried on my mustang before i bought a cat-back system. The tips will make a little bit of a deeper tone, but you are better off getting a flowmaster!!
There's a pic of them on the link above. Get on the link
