Question Timing 101

Two questions:

1. Is ignition timing adjustable?

2. What is the correct procedure for doing so.

Don't have the factory service manuals (yet).

Thanks. Didn't know if there was some way to move the entire spark curve like on my '93. It likes about 5 degrees more initial timing than factory setting. I don't feel like voiding the extended warranty.
