did you not see at the bottom where i said email this dealer and let them know what they have done.they gave all the 2001 specs on it and are asking about $6000 too much.

Vruhm, where do you live man. I know where I'm going to sell my lightning when the 03's come out. I bet I could get what I paid for it here in NC. Also Steven642, I emailed them like you asked. I wasn't nasty about it but I did let them know that they were showing a 00 and giving specs on a 01/02. I also let them know that you can purchase a brand new one for cheaper than they are trying to sell that used one.

 

That is NOT a deal. The specs they list are for a 01, unless the 00 is mod'd from 360 to 380. Super clean 00's are going for $25k-ish here in my area, and 99's are just a touch less.

 

my father got a 2000 w 4k miles used that has a 2001 motor (built 5/11/01) in it. Truck was built 3/1/00. It's going in tuesday to have a cat replaced....rattling from broken cat in side....and my father wants to get to the bottom of it. No vehicle history of having a motor swapped according to them. Not a big deal but probably should have been documented somewhere along the lines. My dad already busts my ***** about the 20 hp....(obviously not a big deal). Can anyone run an oasis if i give them the vin. Not sure whether to trust the dealer. I dont trust anyone period.... Dead give away when it went in for a vibration and they said they had to reposition the motor and exhaust(something i read about on here actually.....loosening the exhaust letting it heat up and then refastening it). And they said it didn't need the intercooler recall because it had an updated motor.....red flag city.

im in the navy and stationed im hawaii. they was $42000 for a new L here. out the door no negotiations. you pay 42 or you dont get one. any i see people driving them almost everyday.

 

To make matters worse, I asked if it had ever been in an accident. They replied with a cut/paste of the carfax report, which does not list any damage to the vehicle. Does that make this vehicle eligible for the $5000 carfax guarantee?
