Price of a rod?

I agree with pretty much everything said here: EXCEPT, the price of better rods. One of our Tuners here is selling 800HP H-rods for arond $ 5 or 600 a set. To jack up the price of an L by $4000 I would expect some 1500-2000 HP Rods. Remove the price of our current rods and add the price of 800HP H-rods and i"m thinking maybe jack the price up $350. Or maybe FORD could go all out and even raise the price $500. I doubt the actual price of our engines(truth be known) is actually much over 4-5 maybe $6000. To jack up the price by $4000 and say but look you got really really good rods would almost be insulting to the lightning community.Remember, buy 8 rods, pay $800, buy 45000 rods and you will probably get some kind of discount. Especially if your name begins with FORD. Or do I owe everyone here an apology.

Cobra-R $30,000 more than a Cobra but you get $2500 Carrillo rods in that 5.4.

Plus: Recaro, Brembo, Borla, 6-speed, BFG-R's, and a whole lot more.

Yes, that translates to $28000 more $$$$$ more in Fords pocket for somrthing you could probably do yourself for 5-6000. Building fast cars is not rocket science(not that I can do it) but people have been doing it for along time. And it doesnt take $14000 to build a 380HP engine. IMHO.
