2# vs 4# pulley

I know this has probably come up before but the search isn't working. I want to add a lower blower pully to my 2000 L and I want to know which pulley to go with, 2# or 4#? I realize the 4# will make more power, but is it worth the possible trouble that will result? Any help is apprecieted. Thanks
By the way, the 6# is out of the question

Sal had a post within the las month or so that as I remember concluded that for a street driven L the best is a 2. The four thru 6 range should be used with real care. Chips MUST be tuned for them, Wheather can be sensitive (ccold or hot), age of the fuel in the truck, High speed driving, towing and miles that you expect the motor car all be issues.

IMHO hope this helps

PS I think the JDM version looks real close to stock.

I've got a 4# pulley (thank you Silver-Bolt for the install) and and chip. No problems with 30 degree weather. It's a great street and highway combo. Haven't tried to tow with it yet. It certainly goes like a scalded-*** ape.

i heard going above a 4# strips the threads on the supercharger. you say a 2# is the best for a daily driver is that right? what about a 3# would that hurt it if it were a daily driver

I think it would be best to talk to Sal. I was going by memory as to what he said. It would be great for Sal to repost his reply to the previous post.

I drove mine daily with a 3lber for about 14-15,000 miles--no problems. I replaced it with a 5lber.
