Some good Chip info....

Ok, even though I did break my shaft yesterday, due to not having traction bars. I did get some good info before I even made it to the track. Here goes...

Lariat4X4 had a Ford Diagnostic Scanner that he brought with him. We met up at a Food Lion near the track and had some downtime so he decided to check over my truck some. First he check the temperature banks (as he called them) on the heads. I had just put in a 160 stat earlier in the week. After driving around then parking he found the heads were sitting at 168 DegF. I started it back up and they were staying around 167 at idle. He then checked my O2 Sensor readings and my fuel tables. Everything he checked was well within the parameters that are shown or tought to him as a Ford Mechanic. This made me very happy to know the truck was tuned well and would safely be able to run!! True the boost could have gave me issues as we all know, but CHIP wise I was well taken care of. The truck was slightly rich by what he saw on the scanner. RICHER IS BETTER!!! LEANER IS MEANER!!! Remeber that.

This shows my JL TUNED Diablosport Chip was doing what it was suppose to do!!!!

Gotta second your post! I've had my DiabloSport Chip tuned by JL for a few months now, and it works great...no problems thus far. Though when winter hit, I heard pinging and immeadiatly sent back for reburn winter program. Put it back in, and NO detonation. I'd have to say the chip runs perfectly...though I want to find someone out here with a scanner to check out my stuff.

What is there really to say? These tuners spend ungodly amounts of hours working on these things. Why wouldn't a chip make the truck run the way it should?

I just think with all the BLOWN motors going on that it should be stressed that its not the TUNERS fault. I mean id hate to have people calling me saying, hey your stuff blew my motor up. I think everyone should remember how their chip is tuned!! and what its tuned for!!

Indeed. I blame nothing on Sal or JL for going through two motors and a transmission. It was just raw power and haveing to move a two and a half ton behemoth.

I totally agree with all of you, the tuners are doing a great job but they can only do what we ask them to. Its up to us to let them know what issues we have so they can help us.

I do think 14-16psi on a stock motor is to much if you have all the proper things to make it work. You can look at the posts and almost see why the things are letting loose....

I have talked to a few people that know these motors well. they think 18-20psi could be handled stock if all was working properly. There will be some motors weaker than others and some stronger. What do you have? You will never know until it lets loose or until you start modding!!

And the CHIP is the heart of it all. The Wrong Program can cost you...
