LAG from D to R, vice versa

Anyone else notice an unusual 1-2 second lag when shifting from Drive to Reverse, or the other way around? I have been noticing it lately.

Unless there is some hidden linkage I haven't seen yet, these trucks are shift by wire. Im sure the computer puts a slight delay in the shift, just to make the comfort people happy.

Wouldn't a dirty filter produce the same results? I know it's new, BUT ANYTHING possible.

I woudn't worry about it if thats all the lag you're getting. Be thankfull your truck is supercharged and not turbo charged. (though they have improved on turbos)

Me too, I notice more often from D to R, but I have been told that it is normal also.

i dont know about the shift by wire thing, there is a regid cable coming out of the firewall on the drivers side and then goes to the trans pretty sure it is a shift linkage cable. i did have the delay from N to a gear and from P to R or from R to D, etc etc. but i also had alot wrong with my trans, second gear drum cracked and softparts destroyed, but alto can cause the delay, line pressure, worn parts, etc. unless u see other signs of problems dont worry about it...

I'm not worried about it, but it's REALLY annoying, especially when you have to reverse out of a parking stall or something quicker than normal, and hit the pedal to go, and all you see are your RPMs going, and not you, then click it pops into gear at like 1200.. pisses me off

If the trany didn't hesitate between shifting from Drive, Neutral, Reverse, it would be like having a standard transmission, and dumping the clutch every time you shift. When shifting from D to R and visa-versa, everything in the tranny has to change the rotational direction. When it's shifting thru the gears going forward, no slip or hesitation is good, as the transmission internals are still going the same rotational direction.
