Autometer Question

Just a few quick questions if anyone could help me out here. I am going to purchase a JL 4# psi pulley, and also, wanted to purchase a dual autometer guage pod, with a boost guage and another type of guage. First question is should I go with a mechanical or electrical guage? Second question is what type of other guage other than boost can I get? Third is, when buying a boost guage.. should I get the one with the vacuum and boost, or just boost? Fourth, whew and lastly, is has anyone installed the Carbon Fiber Ultralite ones? Or just the white face ones? I was looking to purchase these from truckperformance.com
Any help would be appreciated.

mechanical is more accurate but harder to hookup, i personally went with electrical and happy with them.
i went with a three guage with a boost (with vac), fuel pressure (that i recommend for your second), and a volt. and last i went with the white faced, no exceriance with the carbon fiber...

What do you mean mechanical is harder to hook up??? My boost gauge (mechanical) only took me half hour at the most!!!

I would personally go with a volt meter for your second choice!!

As far as no vac on a boost gauge....I have never seen that. All boost gauges have vac.

Not all boost gauges have a vaccuum side to them........

Look at #5704 compared to #5703.

boost mechanical is easy, but the fuel pressure, and the oil press and trans temp I run in the mustang were a pain in the ARS...

I second what 2_fast4u had to say. The reason you add a second boost guage is to get the more accurate mechanical reading over the factory guage and a voltmeter was removed at the factory for the boost guage. I just ordered the double autometer pod with boost / vac and a voltmeter in the phantom guages.

You could get just a booost only guage, but the most common and least expensive will be the combo, and if you care the vac side tells you if you have vacuum leaks and if you are getting your best gas mileage.

I have a dual gauge pod by Auto-Meter too, A/F ratio and Boost Gauge, both silver faced ultralites. Looks pretty good at night, mine is mechanical its really really easy to hook up. I basically just ran a T-line from my stock boost gauge and my new one it reads great tells me that my 6 pounder pushes almost 16psi. The hard part was running the A/F gauge from the PCU and finding out which one was the right wire to tap into.
