Strange noise on shifts
Strange noise on shifts
If I accelerate at about 3/4 throttle I get a sound right before the shift that sounds just like a turbo boost blow off on a ricer turbo car. At all other throttle positions I get nothing out of the ordenary. I do have "torque reduction" activated. Does anyone else get this noise. It does not sound like detonation. It does last for about 1/2 sec.

My truck does the same thing!!!
I thought it was just me, but I thought the truck was suppose to do that at first. Being it has a supercharger on it, i thought it was just blowing air out the system or something...sounds kinda like a burble or rattle out the exhaust from 1st to 2nd at WOT...what is it???

Dont get worked all up about it its normal. Mine did that too. It makes the noise when your at WOT shifting from 1 to 2 and get use to it unless you plan on getting a chip. It doesnt change anything its just factory. I dont know what it is but a chip will change it. The chip worked for me.
I love my chip thanks JDM. One word of advice look for cops when you are testing chip because they dont like the excuse that you were testing out your new chip in your new Lightning especially when you are 16. Tickets SUCK.

The miss that is coming from the exhaust is deffinently the torque reduction and is not a problem. What I hear sounds like somone is pressing an air nozel under the hood.

Thats the first claim by a dealer of what I would guess it is.
It could be with torque reduction on that the engine rpm changes so fast at part throttel that the blower belt slips. Both are just guesses.
