towing to the track

For all you weekend racers---do you all drive or tow your L to the track? Extent of mods(lot or little, no need to list),and do you ever break anything? What do you do then? How far to the track you usually go to? Here's the deal-- I used to race Mopar 340s years ago, 4spd, 5.13 gears, lots of cam and compression, barely streetable. I towed. Broke things too. So I guess I worry too much or should I worry? My L will get a 5# pulley, chip, F/T vlv body, truck tracks, and ET streets or slicks LT headers and Bassani exhaust(I been watching the posts here and at F150 and the Bassani seems to win out and sound the best without being too loud). I'm shooting for 12.4-12.00 or faster if I'm lucky. I did 13.3 stock so I don't think it's impossible. I live about 1 hr from the tracks around here and think I'd be more comfortable picking up a trailer. That way I can get the L dressed to kill and tow with the Land Cruiser. If something breaks just wench it on the trailer. Also, do 4.10 gears gain you anything? I don't see many people running them.

I prefer to tow, but when i had my L, it was my only truck. Most guys here always drive to the track, but if you tow, you also get to make that "cold" pass as soon as you get there.
