I recieved JDM's flip chip today and installed it. It was easy to install thansk to their instructions, and this si coming from someone that doesnt know anything bout these trucks. Well anyways I put the chip in and everything looked good I started the car and it worked so I guessed that I did it right and I heard no pinging. Well I got in to go for test drive and I hit the gas, somthing went wrong with this chip my tires will be gone in like 5,000 miles. Man this thing is awesome It was a little damp here because it had been misting and all and I got sideways in this straight away changinf from 1 to 2 and this was only on street. I think Ill save race side for when it is dry. Thanks Jim this thing rules and really made this truck go. Man and I thought that the truck was fast before the chip boy was I wrong.

Depends on what chip you wanna go with there is Johnny Lightning that sells a Single Program that runs about $275 and he said that he was coming out with a new one though. There is JDM's single program dont know cost go to website, but his flip chip what I got is $400 including shipping. There is PSP's chips he has single, flip, and 4 way. Dont know his cost I would go to his website. Ohh and Ra6870 if you want one then Ill take you for a ride when we go up to starbucks this weekend, and you can see the difference. What night we goin up there. I live in the Woodlands and I can go up there and when you get your chip I could help with install if you want.

I am glad you like the chip.

Just one word of advice when you flip from one side to the other make sure the key is out of the ignition. Also before you go to the track switch it over to side 2 and drive it a while so the computer will adjust to the new program.

 

John, wait til you get a pulley on that monster!!

 

Note:

You wont hear pinging when it is idling (at least you better not) as it most often occurs when the engine is under load, at slight tip in of the throttle (non kickdown), towing, and/or at wide open throttle.

When and IF you hear something that sounds like marbles inside your engine. LIFT IMMEDIATELY.

Word of advise.

When driving the truck hard. Turn the music OFF and listen to the engine. Not only does blower whine sound awesome but you'll be able to hear anything out of the ordinary.

Good advice Speedy. I you have a slight case of detonation it usually shows up at the top of Drive at WOT.
