Question In need of Pro Tech help!

We have an interesting situation here. We've got an '87 mustang Coupe with a 2001 Lightning motor in it. We're trying to use the stock Lightning electronics for it. Our problem is this, the PCM we're using (for a 2000) will be looking for a signal for the PATS (Antitheft) system before it will allow the injectors to fire. Is there any way with a chip to bypass the PATS system, or is there another way to duplicate the pulse signal sent to the PCM from the PATS brainbox? We bought the PCM new from Ford so I know that it is good, but we tried it in a 2000 L with no luck starting it. Leads me to believe that this is what is not letting the Engine fire up! If there are any other suggestions or directions I should go please let me know. Thanks Alot!

I know the PCM has to be programmed to the truck & keys when you change it. Maybe your having a issue like that??

Thats correct. I'm looking for a way around that problem. Without a type of bypass for it I dont know what to do.

ive worked on ford electronics since before PATS came out, and from all the stuff ive ever done, ive never ever seen a way to make the PCM work without a HEC type instrument cluster, and the PATS tranceiver and key. I know thats not what you want to hear. The only talk ive ever heard, was at a ford school not too long ago, i heard a guy talking about PCMs possibly ignoring a "bad" PATS signal if it was powered up with under 9 volts. Now that doesnt mean that it can work without a HEC, I think he was just saying that the wrong key would not cause it to go into antitheft.

he said that he thought they used a rollback or towtruck.

believe me, i would love to be able to defeat PATS, then i wouldnt have to push so many cars and trucks into my bay to work on PATS, lol.
