Pulled Stock Plugs

Stock plugs were AGSF 12FM1.The 3rd one back on the passenger side, not sure what number it is in the firing order, anyhow it was only finger tight. They all looked very good with no visual errosion or pitting. They were slightly reddish in color. I think this is caused by the octane boost I use on occasion. Denso's are in. 3 hours. Not as bad as the SHO. I had 25000 on the stock plugs and they looked like they could have gone another 25000. I can't help but wonder why so many are saying the stock plugs are no good. I have run a PSP chip with the 3 # pulley and only 93 octane. Octane Booster now and then.

I did also pull the passenger side PCV and the line that connects to the blower . It had a noticable amount of oil on the nipple at the intake. I looked from underneath and could not see where the Tee line goes...behind the blower ..BUt where? I must find out where. Anyhow the PCV held a vacuum but would not hold against pressure. The crankcase and what ever that line that goes around back to are for sure seeing Most of the Boost. I will put a brass check in each PCV line tomorrow. along with a strainer.

I am pulling mine (plugs that is) also this weekend.

That line going behind the blower disappears into thin air as far as i am concerned lol.

I looked at it for 20 minutes trying to figure out where it goes, I have trick catch can setup i am working on to see how much oil is getting pushed out of the motor.

Twisted:

I pulled my stock plugs 10 days and they looked 'ok' to the naked eye. A few days later, I remembered that I have a magnifying flashlight that is used to examine plugs(DUH!). Under the 'glass', I coule dsee where the platinum 'pad' on the underside of the ground electrode was worn away--gone. So, mine, at 18,500 miles, were going fast--glad I made the change.

That PCV line goes to the lower manifold--I believe. I disabled the PCV system with a 7/16th inch ball-bearing placed at the valve elbow--in the 3/8ths inch rubber hose--easier than cutting the hoses for a poppit/check valve--no more oil in the intake that is then spread all over the intercooler and s/c vanes. An oil breather cap and a filter on the left cam cover relieves crankcase pressure.

I changed my plugs on Monday. My truck has 18,200 miles on it but since i will be installing my pulley this weekend i fugured it would be cheap insurance. Only took me an hour and a half to do all the plugs and put anti-seize on em. Hardest on was the plug passenger side rear. My fingers are too fat to push the connector up ans pull out to unplug it. Other that that is was a cussfest.
