a couple questions. Just bought the last 2001 lightning in Canada a month ago (Dec 24). Can anyone tell me if installing the Airaid system affects warranty?..as well as if the airaid designed for the 1999-2000 Lightning will still be compatible with the 2001? Thanks for the help.......and man, WHATA TRUCK!!!! Everything plus more than I hoped!!! Yuppie scum beware!!!!

Anything you do to the truck that didn't come on it from the factory will affect the warrenty. But what the dealor doesn't know, doesn't hurt them.

Im not sure if the Air-Aid will work with the 90mm MAF, I have yet to see one used with the 90mm MAF.

I would recomind you go with one of the kits the tuners put out. The PSP kit/FASTair, the JL Ram-Air, and the JDM kit are all nice peices and get the job done extremely well.

 

What Lightning Boy said.........several guys have found out that the 'generic' parts are not the parts/mods to buy for our Ls. There have been problems with generic chips, air filter kits, exhausts, etc. Not that our tuners are 'perfect', but they do their testing on their Ls and we benefit with well- thought out, well made, and effective mods. They know these trucks.

SERIOUSLY EMAIL ME I HAVE HAD BOTH THE AIRAID AND THE OTHER KITS AND DYNOED NO SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE THERE WAS ACTUALLY ONE DYNO RUN IN WHICH THE AIRAID MADE 2 HP MORE THN THE OTHER.

 

Whem I first got my truck I went to the dealer ship and asked
them about modifications and they said the only thing I could do
was airfilter and catback.They were a non-friendly mod dealer
I have found one since then.They warned me about a chip too.So pick carefully where you go.By the way a airaid for a 2000 will not fit a 01 with out modding it.Due to the fact of a MAF differece.Hope this helps.P.S.I like my airaid
