Need......Air......
Ok, I am going to get JL's air induction kit (the big cone filter replacing the stock air box), but I need to know, will this work with my 80mm stock MAF, or do I NEED to upgrade to the 90mm one? Does the 90mm provide THAT MUCH more than the 80???
Help I need pro advice.....

Hey 00FireRide,
I have the JL Air Induction Kit on mine with the stock 80mm. You just put in the year of your truck at the order from and JL sends the correct one. Some people have upgraded to the 90mm but I didn't have that much money at the time. If you have the money go for it. More air = more hp, bottom line. If you upgrade get them both(90mm and air kit) at the same time. Because if you get the Air Kit it's made for the 80mm, then when you get the 90mm you will have to call JL and have him send you the necessary parts to make it fit the 90mm.
Hope this helps, and it's not too confusing

I currently have a superchip installed now. If I add an air induction kit will I have to get it reburned b/c of a lean condition or no?

I have JL's kit on my 2000 , I had it on my 80mm originally , work killer. I upgraded to the 90MM and everything fit great, I did not have to call for parts. JL's kit was larger for the 90mm ... so yes it does fit both fine and works great.... you will love the difference in sound. you will do alot of driving around with the window down.
00: All Our AirKits and RamAir kits will fit both the 80mm&90mm mass air meters. So don't worry if you choose later to upgrade to the 90mm it will fit. However you will need a reburn on your chip ONLY if you upgrade to a 90mm mass air.....JL
So, I am guessing, on the stock 80mm there is a big difference in sound and perf just with the air kit alone right? and then the 90mm only makes it that much more......

Changing to the 90mm won't do much for you until you are heavily modded (chip, pulley, T/B, long-tubes, etc.). Your 80mm will take you well into the 12.'s. Spend the money on a pulley.
