How do ya like your line mod valves?

I just ordered a line mod valve and stiffer 1-2 shift spring for my tranny from JL. Hoping it helps the slide I have into 2nd gear. How is yours holding up? Hows the shift? Just hope its not a real pain to install. Ive read somewhere that some of you are barking the tires on the 1-2 shift! How does 3rd feel?

Skank,

Did you get the medium or hard shift? I just got the medium and I love it. I use to bark the tires with the F1's, even hit 3rd a few times. With the 20's it just kind of hits good. The tires differance took away the chirp sound....

I love it though!!

When you do it you may want to add the f250 trans pan and filter.

I LUV it. Mine chirps them on the 1-2 shift, sometimes even on 3rd. I have the medium shift as well.

The line mod valve is a good mod, just don't pay $80 for a $20 part.

There may be a Lightning running at Laguna Seca in February with the PSP/Factory Tech performance valve body installed. And if I'm lucky and the owner is willing, I'll be able to drive it around the track to test whether or not the shifts hurt or help on a road course. Worst case is that I'll ride shotgun. Either way, I'll post a review.

One a side note and warranty issues, I hope Ford will honor the body warranty if the sheet metal fails to retain it's shape in case of a collision with a wall.

What ****** said. I have the hard valve and I like it pretty good. Also, the work is a breeze but definately switch to the 4x4 pan and filter. I picked both up from Ford for less than $50.

JL's come w/ complete instructions and is very easy. Mine shifts really quick at part throttle and really hard at full throttle.

mbrown--What your saying is that the"hard valve" from Ford is the same as the line valve mod the tuners are selling for $80??If so, what is that part # from Ford??

Thumbs up

It would be a good time for you to pick up a 4X4 trans pan and 4x4 filter at your local dealer parts dept.(cheaper than JDM's and same thing) when you put in the spring and valve.
