AutoTap owners ****PLEASE****

before purchasing the auto tap for the truck i would like to know if it cover the parameters im looking for or if ill have to buy the guages plus, is a everyday driver so i like the idea of being able to unhook and remove when not needed..

(volt) i know it covers
(water temp) pretty sure it covers ??
(trans temp) does it cover ??
(fuel pressure) i know it does tank pressure is that the same ??
(air fuel) does it cover or does it do something similar
(oil pressure) does it cover
(boost) not a big thing but would like to know.

i bought a used one the other day.. its pretty cool!
its got a lot of variables.. i havent had time to go thru them all.

i know it doesn't have boost pressure.. thats a mechanical guage on our trucks. i dont think it goes thru the cpu.
it has cylinder head temp, coolant temp, voltage.. ect

your best bet would be to download the free autotap program, and play with it. you can look thru all of the options.

i did the download and it only showed the parameters for their demo and not all of them available. i also talked to their tech support and he said it covered 75 diff parameters but didnt know which ones..

also between air fuel and fuel pressure i dont want both guages if not covered so which ONE is the best or most informative...

thanks for the help

On a supercharged engine, both fuel pressure and air/fuel ratio are very important. If I could only have one, I'd go with the air/fuel ratio, but only if it is wideband. If you're talking about something that reads the factory O2s, that's not very useful because the sensors are not very accurate outside a narrow operating range.

i just purchased a AUTOXRAY scanner that covers all vehicles from 82 and up. it is very well worth the 330$ that i paid for it. i bought the enhanced program for 70$ more and it has twice as many parameters. you can get more info on there website ay autoxray.com. it is also fully upgradable through the internet with their pc-link.
