I have the hood protector sitting at home. I am still deciding to put it on or not. I spoke with a body shop guy and he said as along as you keep the hood waxed, don't drive behind trucks, and stay under 65 nothing will happen.
It is the staying under 65 that is the problem.

I have the whole kit. You really do need 2 people to install it.

You can't even see the kit until you look really close. It's worth the $...especially if you go 'slightly' above 55mph.

I was interested in Stone Guards too. But some time back after the hoopla about them, people who jumped on the bandwagon, had theirs start burning in the center. Big black dots the size of half dollars in the center of fog lights. That's why I haven't gotten them yet. Then I see this ad and think hmmm, are they any better. But you say you haven't had any trouble with Stone Guards. How often do you run the fogs? Maybe, extensive use will burn them but avg use won't.
I've got the stongards on all my forward lenses, no issues yet. I put it all on at 6k miles, I'm close to 12k now with no problems, including no more broken fogs. From what I have experienced thus far, I'd recommend it.
