Has anyone had their fuel pump fail..
I think I have a fuel delivery problem, tell me your opinions on what the possible causes are. My opinion is that I think the fuel pump is not delivering enough fuel.
Current set-up: stock except for shift kit, dual electric fans w/ cobra R water pump, and the JDM filter, 2400 miles on odometer, NO chip or pulley yet.
Current plugs: Denso Iridiums I20's (two steps cooler than stock)
How it started: Driving today testing the dual channel automter EGT guage, I was really shocked to see the temps I was getting during WOT from 80mph to 100 mph.
Cylinder #3 = 1600 deg F at WOT, 1240 deg F at 70mph cruise
Cylinder #5 = 1500 deg F at WOT, 1160 deg F at 70 mph cruise
Obviously these temps are way too high. What bothers me is that I am stock, except for the air filter, not even a chip or pulley, and I even have cooler plugs.
Also, I noticed later during the drive back to the house that I could hear some mild detonation at part throttle acceleration in OD.
My first guess is the fuel pump, because I noticed today that the max fuel pressure seems to be about 4 psi less than a few weeks ago (used to be 51 psi peak at WOT, today was 47 psi peak at WOT). Also, the fuel pressure didn't seem to move much above 30 psi at part throttle. But I only have 2400 miles on the odometer!!
Have any of you had fuel pump or fuel delivery conditions similar to this? Thanks in advance for your help.

SS killa,
I just saw your reply to a post about your fuel pump replacement. How did your truck run with the bad pump? Would it run at all, or just not deliver enough fuel?
Thanks

this happened to us just a few weeks ago, the truck will run on 1 pump, I would say take it in and let them check it out. Heres our link.
