For $1600 bucks you could probably rent a really nice sports car for a few days.

Check that link out... it's not a bad idea.. I'd probably do just the same...just make sure that you go with a good company, and you'll have to ship it before you leave, as it'll take a few days to get it here in Cali. Enclosed trailers are recomended, but are also more expensive.

All else fails.... easterisland said, there are MANY places out here that you can rent exotic cars from.

$500 per day for a Viper.

I have sold Acuras for a while and when we bought an NSX from a dealer in Oakland and had it shipped to Dallas it cost around $1600 and that was a steal. I would say that if you can get roundtrip for $1600 to do it. The NSX came on an eighteen wheeler but open trailers are not bad assuming that the cars are covered properly, prevents rock chips and the such.

1600 is an excellent price, you could hardly do it yourself for that kind of money. If you consider maybe 4,000 miles round-trip plus tolls(extra for truck/trailer combo),fuel, meals, and misc. expenses on the road for probably five days driving...1600 is CHEAP! BTW,I drive a truck for a living! Make sure you use a reputable company!

Round trip coast to coast for $1600? That sounds too cheap. I have checked into having cars shipped from Florida to the west coast and the best I could find was $1200 oneway.

I bought an Excursion in Texas and it cost 700.00 to ship to North Carolina. Open hauler 18 wheeler. but was worth every cent of me not having to drive it back 16 hours
