Just wondering....

Has anybody driven there truck with the blower belt off???

I am thinking ahead to my NY trip (1300 miles) in June, I dont want to be spinning the blower that hard for that long with my 4lb / 6lb pulley and was going to reinstall the stock pulley for the drive up, but i was thinking it would be more convienient for me to just lose the blower belt while I am running on the highway. I am not sure how it would run, I cant imagine it would hurt anything

Any thoughts on this guys.....

Bob <<< obviously bored

Hey Bob: If you can drive your L to NY(ugh), you surely can make it to Reynolds, Ga. on the 26th --can't you?

Someone posted his experinces without the s/c belt on--it wasn't pretty. It'a slug without it.

No Way Bob

You would never make it Bob, the first time someone got beside you and gave the ol hand signal you would have to stop and put the belt back on. Are you running an upper and lower? As cool as it is out this time of the year I don't think you would ever know the difference if you went back to stock or keep it moded. I know alot more air is trying to spill-back through the small by-pass while your running in a Vac. but I don't think it will really be building that much heat.

Ivan -

I am pulling the chip tommorro night and sending it back to sal, I need to decide on the 4lb or the 6lb pulley He is going to burn the chip and ship it back with the appropriate pulley. I sold my 3lb pulley to that local guy (ed) with red 02' so the only cost I will have for the 4/6lb will be the freight and chip reburn if sal charges for reburn on his customers????

I will install my 3lb on Ed's 02 and install his chip to, he is not all tha comfortable whreching on the "L" to much a all. I still have to get it re-aligned and get the NGK's in it.

Bob,
Even with a 6lb pulley you will not be spinning the blower that fast at highway speeds. I guess that does depend on the speed you travel.
