i just started the L up about ten minutes ago and it made some weird noise hard to explain. but it hasnt been started in about a week or two and its really cold. is it just the starter cranking or what

 

So, did the 'noise' stop once the eng. was running? What 'kind' of 'noise'? Etc. You didn't give enough info. to make an educated guess.

it was just on start up. no noise after. just when i turned the key it was loud though. truck seemed to jump when i started it too

 

It sounds like it was just from sitting. I get mine out every weekend and does the same thing. Mine always makes this loud, throaty sound out the exhaust right as it fires. Sounds kinda cool actually. It doesn't make that sound after I re-fire it later in the day.

 

yeah it only does it if its been sitting but not if i go and start the truck up later in the day

 

And the "starts to move" is 'normal' too--mine does it.
