Question Gen.1 vs. Gen. 2

Ok guys this is for real. I need all the opinions i can get on this one. I have an ex-friend who owns a gen. 1 lightning with a paxton supercharger, JBA headers, ram-air system, borla exhaust and a jet chip. He used to be cool as hell with me before i got my 01' Lightning then he started talking all kinds of **** on me and my truck. He is always claiming to be the fastest truck in town. Well i challenged him to a race the other day for $500. Should i back off or can i take him, i'm tired of his **** talking and need to end it. Please help me out on this one. I have a Diablo Chip and trans valve, that's all.

I think you can take him, you even with superchager, bone stock u were 380HP you're pushin more than that probably, i think it would be a damn close race but i don't know what a jet chip does

Gen1s have a 351 which is a very easily modified engine unlike the 5.4s. With like $10k you can make a gen1 go like 9s. But with 10k on a gen2 you can make em run like 11s. So it all depends on how much money you have. but, more money=more speed on anything.

Really depends on a few things. 1) Is it only a sn95 ball bearing Paxton or the awesome Novi kit sold by ELD? 2) does he have stock heads? 3) Cam , Mass-air or aftermarket intake? These are important questions to ask. If he has the passive old sn95 blower (which I suspect) and stock heads you should take him. That set-up on a Gen 1 should do mid 13's at best. But a 93-95 L with a GOOD blower, heads, cam ect.. will do low 11's easy and possibly high 10's but those trucks are rare (but out there!)Sounds like he doesn't have one of those just by his choice of blowers.

Mondo i agree with you.. I have a new true blue 2002 .. But i also have my 93 Lighting with 8lbs boost. stock exhaust, minor head work shift kit . MT et streets but my limited slip is broken and i have 1 wheel pull. I consistanty. run 1.8-1.9 60s 13.20-13.30. I should be in the high 12s this spring when i get 2 wheels pullin off the line... so thats what you are up against..

Jim at JDM and I are planning on an install here in Houston in May on my 94L. He said he would install a Vortech S-trim, Longtube Headers and custom tune it and guaranteed mid twelves out of it. So be careful.

Also watch out for the 4:10 gears in the 1/8th. I have raced my freinds gen1 that has those mods. I can't shake him at all with my stock 99 in the 1/8th but can pull on him pretty good after that. Would be a good race though. I'd like to be there.
