Tire Question ?

I just got a pair of Toyo Proxis s/t's on the front of my L. I was getting a high speed vibration in the gas pedal and the outside corner on the left tire was getting worn. When I got the tires off, I noticed cupping on the inside of both front tires.

My question is...

What could possibly cause a tire to where in one spot and the three inches later not cause where then three inches later where again. The only thing that I can imagine is an inherent carcass problem with the tire. The only excuse that I have ever seen in writing is some sort of ball joint problem or a problem with shocks. Neither of these explanations make any since to me on a truck with 18000 miles. Does this cupping show up on all of our trucks? Does anyone have a set of Toyos with enough miles to show a where pattern?

Don't rule out the shocks, especially if your truck is a 99-00. The shocks on my 00 were toast at 12,000 miles. Sounds to me like a combination of shocks and alignment.
