UPDATE to Rough Idle Saga...
Hey Don,
Were you having the vibration problems with your Magnaflow, or did you just have the weights installed when the Magnaflow was installed just to make sure?
I have a Magnaflow 14468 and have not had any vibration issues at all.

With the Magnaflow and the weights the truck is nice and smooth.
2_FAST4U, I am going to Ted Britt Ford.
WHAT04, all of the pieces are coming together now. I remember now that they replaced my muffler right when I bought the L because it made a weird "squealing" noise (like belts) when the engine was hot. When delivered new from the factory, I noticed that my exhaust looked a little lower than everyone else's and didn't even fill the cut-out in the side-skirt. It didn't look great, but in hindsight it didn't vibrate either (just squealed).
When they replaced the exhaust muffler, I picked it up and the first thing I noticed was that it was mounted a little higher in the cut-out, which pleased me. But now I am realizing that it may have been mounted too high, and over time has been "rubbing" against the floorpan or body as you describe. I wonder if remounting the whole thing a little lower again will solve my problem without using the dampeners at all...
