Installation of Bassani Exhaust

Was thinking about ordering Bassani Exhaust. Was wondering since I live out here in CA if anyone knew where the best place to get the catback system installed would be? I havepretty much a ton of auto places out here, but not a Lightning Tuner. Anyone having any ideas...cause I don't think I'd be willing to attempt to install this myself.

you sure,,, really it is very easy to do yourself,, i mean all you really do is screw and unscrew bolts and nuts,,, i did have problems myself but only because i was shipped some of the wrong parts,

plus while you go with the install if you run into any problems or can't decipher their pictures in the instruction booklet i'm sure anyone here including me would gladly answer any question you had. Like i said though,, very easy if you have the right parts,, all you need to work it right is a wrench and socket set, and of course the ability to get the bolts as tight as you can get them.

I don't know if anyone else had this problem, but when I installed mine, the stock pipes that were connected with the factory "u" bolts were pinched. When I tried to slide the catback off, it wouldn't budge because the "u" bolts pinched the pipes enough so it wouldn't move freely. I ended up using a dremel to cut the old cat back pipes carefully.

Take it to any muffler shop and have it installed. They would love to work quality parts. It really shouldn't cost very much for a shop to install either.

Good luck,

Question DOES ANYONE..

...have any close up, or just side pic's of the tips on this system?

IS this the BEST system out for these trucks?

Thanks!

team bassani with some long tube headers from one of the L tuners and you have the baddest sounding highest performing exhaust you could possibly buy for these trucks, Some people tend to feel a new muffler will give tbe same sound, but i've compared sound clips, and even in person now and i dont think there's any comparison to the bassani,

I recently did a cat-back Gibson on my expedition. I had to overcome the factory "pinch" as well. Used a torch to heat the outer pipe, and while it was hot a friend pulled it loose for me. The install goes well on most do it yourself if you take your time and set it all in place before you tighten even one bolt. Clearance is most critical. No touching or rubbing allowed.

Since you live in Cal, I have a question. You know how ticky the fuzz around here are on loud exhausts. I am chomping at the bit to get a bassani for my '02 L, but my fear is it will be a waste of cash if the decibel level is way up. When you get yours installed, any chance you can describe the Db level or have it checked?

I can tell you it gets annoying at highway speeds.I feel the Magnaflows are quieter with same performance. And I've been in a couple of Bassani equiped L's.Get the long tubes and a Magnaflow and your set.Hell even the long tubes and the factory muffler might be the ticket. Now that would be stealth with a little rumble, I'll bet.
