New car, is it faster than the L?

Just bought a C32 AMG. Any bets on which one will win in the 1/4? (Lightning is a 2001, unmodified)

i think your c32 will nudge your L in the 1/4. my L will definitely take your benz. if you like, i can trade you the benz for my L

Cool

That would boil down to, temp, available traction, and the color of each vehicle, to make a scientific calculation, or something

From what I see on Road&Track, the C32 AMG will do 5.1 to 60 and a 13.6 1/4 mile. Personally I'd say it depends on the driver, and the traction situation. MY bet: About the same. I think that if they are both stock, the C32 would be about a 1/2 car-length ahead. My $.02

p.s. The Lightning would definitely win the beauty contest (my beauty contest); hands down :-)

What color did you get? I look at the Desert Silver and loved it. Maybe you can join us at a road course sometime, if you don't mind the long drive from Washington to California.

BTW, stock for stock, it's faster. If you're interested in modifying it, contact Ruslow. He knows some of the older AMG engineers. They'll be able to give you tuning advice if you want to squeeze more performance out of it.

no mods for the benz...

It's for the fiance (and she has a strict "get your hands off my car" policy).

But we will be taking them out to the 1/4 mile and trying them out (along with the hopefully 11 sec Saturn).

California is only a days drive, we might take you up on it.

I can't believe how how the C32 pulls... really neck snapping (moreso than the L I'd say)

How can I afford it? I was really lucky in a stock offering.

No mods is probably the best route although I plan to get an extra set of wheels to mount racing tires. Are you interested in Laguna Seca in April? If so, email me and I'll get you the details.
