Zaino ZFX Rocks! and buffer question
Zaino ZFX Rocks! and buffer question
all you zaino users out there need this stuff..
combined with your polish, this stull will let you put on 3 coats a day!
took me about an hour to apply and remove 1 coat by hand.
how do you go about buffing your truck? i dont want to screw my paint up. i have a 9" random orbit craftsman buffer.
do you just apply the polish with the buffer, then hand wipe off?
pics to follow..

Been meaning to get around to that additive but it is not polishing weather here in KC.
First, I use a Porter-Cable random orbital polisher. Some places want like $200 for it and I found it on the net for $100. Adjustable speed and is powerful enough to really get after pad paint with the right compound. I apply a small amount to a polishing foam pad; put it on the and work an area and work it for a couple of minutes (I ususally work an area about the size of 1/4 the hood.
I take it off first by hand with 100% cotton towels. You have to be careful to buy american made and make sure there is no synthetic in the stitching/ribbing. I then follow-up with a special microfiber bonnet to pull out the last bit of shine. Awesome results for me and I've tried alot of methods/techniques.
Back and Forth strokes by hand not circular.

Jim, I use a Porter Cable Random too. Its easier on us older guys than several coats of hand polishing. Use a soft pad.
If you want to find all the stuff in one place, try Griots.

I use an orbital buffer to apply, and soft towels to remove by hand after the wax hazes. I have tried using the buffer to remove the wax also, but it wasn't any easier.

Jeff, their polishes work very well. They are VERY gentle on the clearcoat. You really nave to use the more agressive polishes that they make for the clearcoated paints. The final polish is made for concorse laquer jobs.
Their was is also too fragile for the harsh LA environment. I've been using good old Merguire's and that seems to be the best for day to dayout here.
Check out some of their tools. I own a one man brake bleeder, that has payed for itself 10 times over.
