Question Question about Borla exhaust tips.

I was going to change the stock exhaust tips on my 00L. The Borla tips look much nicer. Just wondering how they hold up. And do they change the sound of the exhaust. Thanks. Bob.

SVT Bob,
I recently switched to a Magnaflow 14468 and Borla intercooled 2.5/3.5 tips. I had a muffler shop mandrel bend the tailpipes. The tips have a 38 degree angle to the tips. I tried to get the pipes/tips to look as close to as the original setup. When I go WOT, I get a "referee's whistle" sound. I think it is because of the angle of the tips act like a scoop. With this combo of the scooping action of air and WOT exhaust, it causes a turbulance within the intercooled tips, giving a "whistle" effect. There are no leaks in the new exhaust. I think the whistle is kinda cool and unique, but if you don't like the whistle, dont get the angle cut intercooled tips, turned 90 degrees. Otherwise they look great and just soap and water make 'em shiny!!!
