Cool ***** Dynoed the truck today *****

401.0rwhp and 496.4rwtq

JDM chip
JL 3lb lower
TR-6's
K&N open element filter

I was really wanting to be a part of the 400/500 club, but oh well. The runs were made back to back with no cool down time. The "club" should have been reachable if we didn't have to shuffle 25+ cars thru thru the dyno today. A little cool down time would have REALLY helped. Oh well, it gives me something else to shoot for. Maybe I should have put that 160 degree thermostat in. I'm still happy... for now. LOL

Thats pretty impressive CornerCarver for the few mods you have.
Just wondering what type of program you had burned on your chip.....

I put the 160 in the other day. I noticed better off idle crispness. I think it'll help. Sal had some dyno numbers on it..somewhere. I plan to dyno mine next week. Will post the mods and chart.....
I feel the Z06 is within reach...

Daammitboy!

Great numbers! You sure that wasn't DL's truck? LOL

Oh, btw, you are no longer invited to "Lightning Day" at SDR on the 26th of January. There will be guards at the gate with instructions.................................

It's actaully the same program the Jim@JDM uses (or was the program he used a couple of month ago) in his truck. I started pickinig up a slight bit of detonation in cold air (top of third gear and a little at tip-in) and found out that when I sent the chip in for a reburn for the 3lb pulley the accidently burned the flip chip program on a single program chip. The second program was the program that ended up on my chip is the one Jim runs. I noticed my gas mileage suffered and got some detonation in the cold air (slightly audible at ~55 degrees and lower). The correct program for my truck should arrive Monday. Jim said it wil take out a small amount of timing at tip-in and up top and should correct my gas mileage as well. I plan to dyno it on 2/2/02 at another club meeting. Jim told me there isn't much difference between the two. I hope so.

BTW LIGHTNINROD,
The Xylene works wonderfully.

CornerCarver,

Nice numbers...I'm right there with you. Pulled 401.7 hp and 494.9 ft.-lbs. of torque this past Wednesday. I too was shooting for the "infamous" 400/500 but fell just short. I'll be there next time though!

Hey CornerCarver,

That's some great numbers, Congrats..

Was that SAE corrected or Standard corrected ? Check your Dyno papers and let us know.

Also, Could you post your Air/Fuel readings?

thanks,

Don,

Nice numbers but not quite the territory you're going to be in shortly! I might have to go the 4V route to get some ridiculous numbers out of this thing!

CornerCarver- I just had Jim reburn my chip last week for my listed mods and Im also getting just a slight audible detnation in 34 deg. weather. But what really gets me is my fuel mileage has went to s*** like yours! I can actually watch the fuel gauge needle move while driving!!
Do you happen to know the program # that was on the back of the chip? Mine is J69 something, Id have to pull it out to check.
But it pulls really freakin hard with this program, but the fuel mileage sucks.
Jim, if your reading this, KICK A$$ program!!! I'll just be spending alot of time at the pump!

I had the same problem with the J69 program in this cold weather. But damn, the truck screamed with it installed. Much better than my previous program.
I have a new chip on the way to fix the detonation.

DL,

Those are corrected. The correction factor was .99 so I really put down 405.1rwhp and 501.4rwtq. Soooooooo, technically I'm part of the 400/500 club but not quite. LOL

Skank and Flash,

It's about a two month old J7 program. I agree, I'll keep going to the pump the way this thing pulls. I took a buddy for a ride in Atlanta this weekend. I dropped a gallon of Xylene in the tank and a one ounce of Marvel's mystery oil and took him for a ride. It was about 30 degrees out at that time and I didn't want to worry about detonation. Anyway, from a 20mph roll, I nailed it. Spun through the remainder of first, completly thru second gear and well into third. He went ape-shiet! Tried it froma 40 roll, she just hooked and LEFT THE PLACE. He's building a 9-10 second Grand National and was floored by "the truck".

Funny thing at the dyno yesterday, once we were about 1/2 way thru this litttle ricer guy comes up to the dyno operator and asked , "Who the King so far?". He looked squarely at the kid and said, "A truck." The look of bewildermment on the kid's face was priceless.
