PSP Chip problem!

I had just gotten on the freeway and was gunned it, i was in hot street, and as soon as i hit the pedal the truck just turned off and started coasting. So i put her in neutral, still cruising at like 60, started er up, put it in drive, and kept goin. Then later tonite the check engine light went on. Unplugged the the battery for a few minutes and now the light is gone.
Anyone know what coudl have been the problem?

loose chip. Also on a more personal, side note (and NO, I'm not going to tell you to do a search.) I'd suggest not really "gunning" it for a long period of time. Just a tip. I've been down that road before.

it'll take it up to 140, not saying, DON'T do it...but just my suggestion from what I've read lately, and from what I've been through lately, is don't do it often, and not for long periods of time.

It was said a little while ago about chips, and how they are tuned, and dynoed to carry you through the 1/4 as fast and as safe as possible according to your mods... but I don't think any of these chips are meant to be held at 140 for a few miles. (once again, not saying your doing this, but do a seach for Mystery2001 threads, and see what I'm talking about.)

If you are going to make top speed runs get your chip tuned for that. There is differences in the chips for 1/4 mile runs and top speed runs.

J15BIG, I periodically remove the chip and clean the contcts. When you have electricity crossing two points, you will bet carbon buildup, if there is any vibration at all. I probably do it onec every 3-4 months, just to prevent any potential problems. I also tape the chip into place.

I've only had that happen to me once. That was before
I started my maintenance program.

Yes, it sounds like a contact issue. Reclean the PCM with some rubbing alcohol and visually make sure that all the goo was removed. It's a good idea to tape the chip on, and make sure when you tape it on, that it is on striaght, not pulled to the side. If this continues, just let me know.
