Angry Bad luck at the track!

I took my truck out to the track tonight to see what she would do since I put my chip in. After sitting in line for and 1hr and a half I pulled up to do my burn out and the truck staled. So I try to start it again and the same thing happened. I did this about 8 times and every time I touched the gas it staled. After they towed me off the track I took out the Chip and everything was fine. Im a little disappointed because I was unable to try my chip out. But their always next week. I did make a few passes. The first was 13.873 @ 98.64 and the second at 13.813 @ 99.37. Still not to bad for a stock truck. I guess I'll know what im doing this weekend. I'm almost getting good at takeing out my PCM and putting it back in.

Flash,

Is the PCM cleaned good? What type of Chip is it? Sorry to hear that, sounds like a bad connection though....

I have cleaned the PCM several times now. I really don’t know how many more time I cam clean the thing. The last time I cleaned it I was told to use a pencil.
I bought a PSP chip with the CUX1 burn.

Try to tape the chip to the computer so that it is held sturdily in place. Someone I know has had the truck stall in traffic because the terminals weren't making a good connection. I beleive that person had a superchip.

Anyway, my personal best BONE stock was 13.89@99.87 I think.

Add in the chip, filter, take off the muffler, spare, and hitch, that leaves us with 13.14@104.xx

Quite a difference.

Make sure the bracket does not infringe on the chip. I had to bend mine. Yes you need to remove the bracket. Pain in the ***.
I tried top use the small plastic clip...I quit using it. You can try bending the contacts on the chip. Carefully press them inward for better contact. It's worth the effort. Mine wouldn't start. Then it would shut down at speed. Make sure you secure the computer with some tape once it's back in the bracket. If not it will move side to side and this isn't a good thing. Good luck

Flash: Also check out 'the other end' of the PCM. Make sure the pin-connectors are straight--where the harness bolts to the PCM.

Once you get the chip back in, tape the chip to both sides of the PCM case before you place it back in the truck.

Good luck,

Dan

I pin-connectors looked good, noting was misaligned. I also made sure that the chip was secure with tape. The truck seems to be running pretty good for now (better that it has ever ran) but I need to give it some time to see if anything happens
