The pump NeedFourSpeed listed on the previous page is the same pump that I ordered from fordpartsonline (from the very first post in this thread) so the one I ordered should have the disc on the impeller (being they have identical part numbers).

Dan

P.S. Thanks Jeff...you're a gentleman and a scholar. Also, can you tell me what that "marble in a can" sound is from about 3000 rpm on up?

I just open a brand new box P/N YRZ-8501-AB. It has the disc.

Not sure what you are talking about, but, some people have described pre-detonation or pinging that way. I have also heard faulty aftermarket cat described that way.

Hope that helps.

Forgot, my brand new pump has the disc also.

Jeff,

You're killin' me! I was kidding...not a hint of knocking out of my truck. But if I did hear a knocking sound I'd just keep my foot in it...what harm can it do?

Thanks again,

Dan

Cool

Here is a pic of the stock and Cobra R. I don't make them but I can show you what they look like so you'll know what size washer to weld on. LOL.

Has anyone looked at the V-10 pump? Supposed to be a higher volume pump. Have not confirmed this or checked any prices.

What about running the highest volume moving water pump and then pulley the thing down to save HP. Just something else to stir up this topic.
