i dont have a bedrug, but i can tell you what i know.
they are durable. if you spill something on it, it is usually easy to remove. it can be used to haul stuff but nothin sharp that might rip it. I really wouldnt suggest getting one unless you have a bed cover. unless it never rains where you are. for the same price
(i think) as a bedrug you can go out and buy a factory cover then save up for the bedrug later. you might want to try it though, just prepare for it to be wet all the time during the winter, i have a feeling they take a while to dry

bed rugs

I don't have an actual bed rug by name, but I do have a carpeten bed liner. Came with my truck when I got it. Also have the factory tonneau cover as well. I haven't had any moisture in the bed with the factory cover. I don't know if i'd spend the money on the carpet and not cover it. The rug will retain moisture all the time. Plus not only will it eventually start to stink, probably will cause premature rot in the bed. Of course it depend where you live too. I'm in NewEngland, so it could be 80 one day and a blizzard the next. I'd recomment going with at least a factory cover(I seem to like their fit the best), or some of the cool hard top covers the guys on the board have. Just my 2 cents.....If you decide on a hard top, if no one post an address, do a search underbed covers, you should find a few links...

really?

wow east.. i didn't know that -obviously. That's good to know. The catalogs I see them in should give more details. Awesome. Does the lifetime warranty for covering it from flying out have a stipulation that it has to be profesionlly installed? Just curious.

For the people that installed bedrugs, do you cut openings on the bed rug for those ring hooks in the bed? Or do you remove & install them over the rug?

NorCalSVT - You can do it either way. I installed mine over the top of the bedrug. I used an awl to locate the hole in the bed and punch through the rug. I'm sure others have cut a slit.

Somebody could probably make the case that mounting it on top of the rug results in a less secure tie-down anchor but the only thing I haul in my L is A$$!

Jake,

Check out: http://www.bedrug.com/

You can even request a sample of the bedrug (I checked, it would take exactly 2,395 samples to do my beg ). Seems to be a pretty good buy . . . !

Does great

My bed-rug probably sees the most wet of any of them...

I haul around salt-water SCUBA equipment then leave the bed open for 2-3 days and let the rain soak out the salt.

I also use a pressure washer to clean it up on occation.

I live in Seattle, so every day open s a day it's rained on.

Had it a year and it still looks brand new.

Although I'd highly suggest a top for convienence, I don't think the bed-rug cares.
