I have had countless violations with my tinted windows. I live here in PA. My local police LOVE to bust my ***** about my tint on my truck and mustang. One night 4.30 in the morning local cop pulled me over in my cobra for tinted windows. Now i dont know about everyone in here but 4 30 in the morning getting pulled over for window tint is total bullsh*t. And i let him know that. what started as a 5 day warning to remove the tint turned into 650.00$ worth of tickets. Tint, exhaust to loud, headlight covers when his pen finally ran out of ink he gave me the tickets and I told him that he was a total a**hole, to go f himself and i would see him in court. He laughed and said the judge was going to throw the book at me. Well my court date came and i explaned to the judge exactly what happened. I told him i barely ever drive the car which is true and is used mostly for show only. I did also explain that in PA window tint is not part of state inspection. And how can i be cited for something that i signed a sticker stating that is it safe and legal for the road. To make a long story short the judge threw out all charges. 3 months later same cop pulls me over in my cobra for window tint.. but refuses to write me a ticket ??? figure that out. So i think that tinted windows is cool but be prepared for some a**hole cop to ruin your day .

In PA you are ALLOWED 20% on the side windows. I had mine done in 99 and it is LEGAL. And have never been pulled over for it. I know the damn laws change every day in this state. My rear window is also tinted 5%.

Yes the tint laws change all the time here in PA i will refuse to remove mine untill it becomes part of State Inspection. Actually I still wont remove it. I like the privacy.

I have 5% Limo tint . I also have a letter from my doctor that states I'm Photophobic (highly sensitive to most light))... But that does not mean you won't be pulled over or ticketed .. But i do have something to go to court with. My problem with my eyes are for real but i still had to prove it , which i did .. with an older car i have...

Blown93,
What did you tell the doctor when he said you were photophobic? Did he tell you that you had this disease, or did you complain about something. Maybe I will go to the eye doctor and say that the light is bothering my eyes, which is does a little bit.

i do not have my windshield tinted. just 5% all around on every window.

my note works.
all i did was when the doc shined the light in my eye i just squinted and said it hurt then told him my vision stayed blurry for alomst 5 minutes.

it works.

i have the back darker than 5%.
it is 10% on all the back windows and then a layer of 5% was layed over the 10%

i wish now i had not done it cause it it toooo dark.
i cannot see ***** out the windows at night. no light gets through them at night.

Steven1642,
I really want a note so I can get the windshield tinted. I want to get it either 50%, or 35%. Now correct me if I am wrong, but this note is good for the windshield too right??

i imagine it would be.
if you have a problem with light then i guess there should be no reason not to.

the only reason i did not do mine is becasue i already have trouble seeing out the back. you should try backing out in mine. you absolutely can see nothing.

Smile window tinting

I have been tinting for 15years @ we never tint illegally, I personally feel that the majority of tint laws are exesive, but they only got that way because people keep insisting on 5% limo tint on the front doors. Tint shops have to police this themselves or face crazy light or no tint on thr front doors, I'm in Canada @ Ontario will allow 30% on the front of which is not too bad, but cops have warned us that they are trying to ban film on the front as most tint shops are not complying to this, it's just a matter of educating people on the law and not thinking of the all mighty dollar. Just my 2 cents worth. sean
