riddler, you don't really need one there are alot of ways to go about changing the springs w/o the compressor. Although I would recommend you use it, there are some safety issue with out it. Safety should always be your first concern!!!!!!!! Just go up to your local auto store and rent them. Most places will just take a deposit and return your money to you afterwards. Also, make sure you replace the bolts while you have it apart, and then go get an alignment. Dageon

Riddler, you don't need a spring compressor.

Jack the truck up support the frame with a good set of Jack stands. Remove the tire, take the shock out, remove the sway bae end link, unscrew the upper ball joint, put a jack under the lower control arm and hit the upper ball joint with a rubber mallet. the ball joint will relaease, the just lower the jack slowly and you will be all set.

The bolts Dageon is talking about are the allignment bolt cams. You canget them from Napa, or most good allignment shops have them.

Don:

Great advice. I chose a little different route.

Instead of whacking the ball joints loose, I pulled the upper control arms loose. The springs lift right out.

You have to pull them anyway to install the cam adjusters.

Just my .02

Rich there are two reasons I didn't put the cam bolts in when I did the springs
1) I didn't want to totally screw up the allignment by putting them in myself. I knew I had to wait a day or two before I could get it alligned.
2) The place that did the allignment put them in, and it turned out just putting shorter springs didn't change the specs very much any way.
