Angry Installing a Street Scene Grille in a 2001 L. Will post pics of the process.

Wish me luck. The lower is in and the upper is a wrench throwing mother ******. I had to just walk away for a while and cool down.

I wanted to order one also, but I can only imagin how pissed you are. I have to walk away from the toaster sometimes. j/k They are suppose start selling the grill for the 01's next month right? Guess I will wait till then otherwise I will most likely break something, and that can get expensive.

Breath deep....

Take the grill shell off (10 mins).
Drill 1 small hole in each tab on the inside of the shell.
**If you don't have the inner shell in there anymore, stretch/flatten the outer LH/RH edge of the SS grill to fill the space.

Get a handfull of small/clear wire ties.
Center and mount the grill.

Reinstalll the grill shell.
Stand back and admire what you're accomplished...

Jeeze, talk about easy install huh rich. what did it take you to do them both. I clocked myself on mine, with a **** and smoke inbetween grills I did them in 45 minutes total, but I did the billets before so experience helps, HAHAHAHAHHA. I remmber sitting there for awhile with the billets thinking how in the hell does this shell come off. HEHEHEHEHE

I'm Waiting Until March

Having spent 6+ years working (not living) in Corrections in another life, there's not much left of my already short fuse. My therapist thinks I should just wait until March, when Street Scene might possibly release a version specifically for the 2001.

Kudos- you guys have a lot more patience than me!

If not too much trouble ChickenEars, could you post a closeup of the grill mesh? I know a lot of owners have never seen more than small grainy photos of the grill in 'Sport Truck' Magazine. Thanks.

Well, it took all day but. . .

The lower grille is a snap compared to the upper.

I probably did it the wrong way but. . .

I cut the center out of the grille, leaving the outer rim.

I used pull ties and started at the bottom, drill a hole, put in a tie, leave them loose till the end.

Getting tired of puting in pull ties.

By this time, I'm thinking "this can't be the best way to do this".

It took a lot of time and more patience than I knew I had. I reccommend waiting for Street Scene to make a grille that fits the 2001.

Lightbulb I should have posted this pic before the others.

I used masking tape to minimize the scratches but still got a few little ones.
