I am getting a set of the JDM long tube headers next week.

I'll let you know how I like them, but from the first few people I have heard from they all love them.

Thumbs up

I have Bassani shorties on my truck now, but they are coming ogg verry soon for the JDM longtube headers. I think the JDM long tubes will prove to be the best header out there.

I believe JL is going to do some testing on a set of step-headers this weekend. They will have a 3"collector. They may be the best for our application. Wait and listen to what he says about them.

im getting a set of the jl stepped headers and i was wanting some opinions from others im going with the 2 1/2" collector and was wondering what u guys think the difference would be with that and the 3" collectors. i know from my racing experience with go karts u almost got to have the steped header instead of straight header. it draws out the exhaust by creating a suction. just wanted some opinions on the collector sizes though.

thanks in advance

Rusty,

Find out what the INSIDE diameter is on both collectors. Some companies measure exhaust tubing from the outside and that doesn't compansate for the gauge of the steel. But regardless, if you plan on doing more work to your truck it's better to plan ahead and get the bigger headers now and lose a little power than choke up your engine down the road and have to spend another $700+ for a bigger set of headers. Know what I mean Vern ???

Very very nice set-up. Looks great. Any dyno comparisons. Here in Houston, we have strict emission testing unfortunately. How does your system perform in the emissons testing? Do the single stage cats work OK?

GDG,

I'm doing a crap load of suspension work now so the truck is laid up. But in the next month or so I will get the thing dynoe'd. The only thing I can tell you is that I ran 12.40's with the stock system and this exhaust makes a noticeable seat of the pants difference. It's also one loud mother f'er !!!

Question

i have a full bassani exhaust with stock manifolds and i am thinking about going to long tube headers. does anyone make a bolt on kit to connect the headers to the cat back or do you have to cut and weld? i like the stainless exhaust and i would like to keep it bolt on instead of welding.
