I really heard that.I can't verify it but thats the rumor.Funny he drove all those badazz ricers in the movie and bought the "parts hauler" in real life.(Actually he just bought a new L)I guess it was more impressive.

I,actually paid to see this movie at the theater and the only good part of the movie was the L , the charger, the 69 chevelle ss after the credits, that maybe hints at more american muscle in part two,and all the american modern muscle parked in the parking lot afterwards..one of the benifits to living in michigan[less rice]. A movie that my 9 year old dragged me to recently that completely blew me away is the lord of the rings. Figured this movie would be worse than a 6 banger L,but it kicks a*s

I enjoyed it. Would have been much better if there was more American muscle in it though. Best part was the fake Charger. Scenes looked impressive at the last race. Second best part was the L. If it had raced, it would've been the best part. Definitely no Hollywood Knights, but a half way decent car flick.

I don't think your L could beat that Supra.

Wish they had the 1/4 times and max speed of that thing on the page. If they do where are they? I can't find them.

Fast and the Furious wasn't too bad, but I agree with ib fast, Lord of the Ringsis the real ride! Go see it! No L, but I could live with that as long as Liv Tyler is there. Oh, yeah!

Intel,
most of the 700-800hp supras on that site, that are for sale, list 1/4 times around 10.50 at 140-150mph. the 900hp one lists top speeds at 230mph plus

I have to tell you I couldn't wait to see this movie, I went the day it came out and it was worth it. I read that the Charger really did pull the wheelie without any special effects. My father used to have a 57 All steel (except hood) T-bird that could do the same thing. I sat through the entire movie and damn if the charger didn't pull the wheelie until the end. If I would've known that I would've had dinner after the movie started and just watched climax after dinner.

I did like the fuel flow going throught the engine special effect. This is probably going to get me flamed but I don't have a problem with the ricers, I have a problem with the morons that drive them. I used to have a 14psi Intercooled Turbo Miata that was insanely fast too the point of dangerous. I sold it to an older gentleman that blew the motor in two weeks. It had a Greddy boost controller that allowed a timed 18psi overboost and he used the red button one too many times. Yes it did have 17" Neepers, lowered and factory skirts. Everything else was tons of high performance parts that surprised the hell out of a lot of muscle cars. I spent more on the performance parts than the car itself and it wasn't cheap. I only put 18,000 miles on it during my 4 yrs of ownership.

I decided to get the S/C Ford because I don't have to spend that kind of money to get the performance where I would want it.

Please don't flame me I respect you guys and I'm not a kid ricer. I'm 32 with two new kids (not the reason I dumped the Miata, it was not a daily driver).

The mopar did not do the wheelie itself. Probaly could have. It was done with hydrolics under the car lifting the front up. I saw it on a making of. The dvd xtras does not show it but that is how they did it.

Also, no flames please, ENJOYED the movie . Bought the movie and will try to support any movies that show L's in them. I am not a kid (35) and realize this is the new competition ,so I did learn a little (emphisize little) about what could be lingering under one of there hoods.

Ok you ruint the movie for me, I was lied to by Jay Leno. He was the one that said it was real. I'm going to pretend that I didn't see your post and continue to think that it was real if you don't mind. Was the demolition of the Charger real, I hope it was a beater stand-in. Either way I hate to see classic cars hurt. It really does depress me.

More like the (Slow And The Curious)!!!! The movie never seemed to end,and curious why anyone liked it.I think some where in the movie there was a bunch of poeple looking at one of the riceburners saying there was 80grand under the hood. For 80 Grand I could build a 7-8 sec mustang with a Enclosed trailer and tow rig..Just my 1/2 cents worth.Nice red ford f-150 in the movie though anyone else see it?

the fast and the furious was alright, one thing i noticed though, when the mopar does a wheal stand in the last race scene, it shows smoke comming from the rear tires indicating tire spin,,,, maybe i'm wrong, but i dont think thats physically possible, i mean its definately possible to do a wheal stand, but the whole reason that happens is cause your tires are gripping the pavement, not burning it.
