Need body repair suggestions

Like I said in my post yesterday, someone backed into the front of my L. The damage is as follows... Both front grills smashed, front bumper scraped/gouged, front license plate bracket ripped off, dent and scratch in hood.

I want my truck back to the way it was before, i.e. all NEW parts, and fresh paint, NO PUTTY!.

My insurance company gave me a list of a couple body shops in my area. I'm scared about going to just any place. How do I know how good of a job they'll do? Should I go get quotes from all of them? I really don't care about cost, it's being taken care of by insurance.

I've heard of ideas of calling the local Porsche and BMW dealerships to find out who they use. But will my insurance company pay for one of their suggestions?

Any other ideas?
Help please, I need my baby fixed right.

TIA,
Brett

Your insurance should pay no matter where you go, VA even has a law on it. To save alittle money and get a better look why not go ahead and get a aftermarket grill??

If it were me, I would go to an SVT Certified Ford Dealer(since they know how picky us L owners are), talk to the body shop manager and tell him that you want a PERFECT job and won't settle for less.

He'll respect you for it. I know, I used to be in the business. Also, he will deal directly with the insurance company and you won't have to worry about the details. They do it all the time.

I hate to tell you this but they are never perfect.Vehicles get damaged at the factory,in transit and at dealers. Most new cars have been repaired before they were sold, at the factory or dealer, and they both use Bondo.Ask any body man and he'll tell you Bondo is common on almost every car.Slight damage is cheaper to fix that way and insurance companies wont replace what can be fixed.Don't set yourself up for a let down.

If your front wheel well panels are in need of replacement, I would ask the dealer if they can get you some of the ones off the shaq expedition. Those look sweet.

Yeah I know that. But my point is that there wasn't putty there before the accident. I want it back to the way it was before anything happened to it, I don't care if I have to battle with the insurance company to have it fixed the way I want it.

"dent and scratch in hood."

This should be your only concern. Since the hood is aluminum and does NOT have a pad underneath, they would have to repair and paint it inside and out. They will replace it.

The bumper and grilles will be replaced. Most of the time they are cheaper to replace than repair.

Now, stop worrying, take two aspirins and call me in the morning.
