Mod Advice
Mod Advice
This is my current shopping list to have installed by me during the winter:
JDM Dual Program Chip
Boost Bypass Kit
Oil Breather Cap
Deep Pump Trans Pan and Filter
PSP Hi Flow Filter
Fast Air Kit
Valve Body
Is there anything I am missing that would need to be installed to work in conjunction with these mods?
Why the huge price difference for the Denso plugs and is it worth it?
Since I am going to install all this myself, should I install one thing at a time and test or can I install multiple items at once?
Any other advice given would be helpful.
Thanks everyone.

Rhino,
Forget about the boost bypass kit, You can do the same thing by unpluging the electronic plug on the vavle. You will not get a check engine light maybe a code. Thats a free mod. Dont waste the money buddy. You do not have a pulley on your list so you really dont need to get the Denso's yet. Even the stock plugs will be fine until you add some boost. If I was you I would get your chip setup for a pulley as well. It will only make the truck run richer until you get one. If you dont plan to ever get one dont worry about it. Its just a hassle to send back for reburns.
If you get plugs go ahead and get the Denso's. They are more money but really make a differance!! Let me know if this helps you, other than that stupid bypass kit, your list looks GREAT!!!

Everything you listed will work together - just make sure your chip is burned for everything. As for the desnos, they are supposed to be a better all around plug. The two NGKs are more specific. The br7s are better for track use cuz they foul easily. the tr6s are good for 2-3#s of extra boost but no more. The densos are good for 4#s and 100 shot of nitrous. go to psps page and look under plugs, it explains everything. i asked sal a similar question and he said you get better throttle response with the densos and smoother idle.
Sounds like a good start
I would add a 4# pulley to that list (so you won't have to get your chip reburned when you get one later), and start looking for some traction bars especially if you have an '01.
Thanks for all the great advice. In regards to a pulley, I am a little hesitate on that so I am going to wait until I hear if there is any long term ramifications with using one.
ICULOKN- Where exactly is that plug and to be honest I dont know what you mean by I would get a code or even where to look for it. I guess my automotive experience is showing!

I thought that just pulling the plug would not allows the wastegate to open and dump hot air while under zero-boost conditions? The by-pass allows for this to happen and keeps you from dumping boost from overring or whatever.
I did this so long ago I might be cornfused.

The "waste gate" will still work with the plug not being plugged in as it operates off of vacuum only. The dump solenoid is actuated by the computer under over-rev or high tranny temp conditions. The bypass kit sends vacuum around the solenoid bypassing it so it doesn't work like it is supposed to. The same effect unplugging it will have. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

The code can be seen only with a code scanning tool used for troubleshooting. You would never know it even was there. If by any change you got a check engine light, you can clear it by removing the negative side of the battery for a few min. This resets the computer. If you cant tell by that picture what it is, do a search for it. Its easy to find....
