How many times did they use the work Viper or make a comparison in that write-up?
EDIT: 6 times.

I bet it's a snappy little thing, though.

It would be nice to see an American made car run with the Ricers, Since Ford will only do the SVT Focus & not the FR200 into production!!!

It's probably got a type of sound dampener built into the exhaust tips, along with the cats to quiet it down. I am curious about how it sounds, though!

Not for me Thanks. (I'm too old for that thing) Looks like it'll be a hit with the ricer crowd though.

I wonder why they are waiting till next year to start production?
You would think they would sell out right away so why not start producing them now.

there was a post on svtperformance i think about a turbo kit for a neon. it came with everything you needed inlcuding turbo, upgraded internals, new exhasut, etc. I think the price of the best kit was around 6k and the price of a new neon is probly less than 14k???? anyway, with this setup, you can supposidly(sp?) run easy 10s. a brand new 10 second car for under 20k, sounds too good to be true??

ill see if I can find the link to it

Yeah, but it's still a Dodge.

It's a Dodge. It'll just fall apart. Nice numbers though.

I will have to say, that would be a very cool cheap alternative to other cars in it's class. Focus SVT, Sentra SE-R, ect.

But like mentioned above, I have ridden and driven a couple of differnt brand new Neon's, and I was dissapointed to say the least with thier build quality.
Interiors were very cheap, and the Automatic version can barley get out of it's own way...

But a $20K car that runs Mid 14's...Hmmm...Good SCCA car!

Sorry Guys but SVT missed the mark when producing the SVT Focus. They should have went straight with the FR200 from the getgo.

Even though it is a Dodge, it seems almost certain that this particular Neon will easily take care of the focus in many respects. It's about time manufacturers start putting components like the turbo back into cars again.

148 in that cracker box could be interesting; especially if it is a little windy outside.

I assume the more expensive WRX will beat this Neon in handling. We know it will in acceleration. This is because of AWD. More practical in bad weather like snow. Also the 227 HP WRX has both sedan and station wagon styles to choose from.

Plus the WRX is race proven having won three years in a row the World Rally Championship.

Also is not Subaru introducing a 275-280 HP version of the WRX in 2002? That will probably be a $30K car if you can get one.
